Of all the great activities that you can choose from, hiking in the Cape’s impressive mountains is still arguably one of the best. There are dozens of spectacular hiking routes on Table Mountain and surrounds. Some examples are:
Direct route up Platteklip Gorge (hike up & down Table Mountain)
The most popular route up Table Mountain is Platteklip Gorge, due to its easy accessibility, whilst still offering beautiful views of the city of Cape Town. This route is recommended for the relatively fit clients.
Duration: 3-4 hours (depending on clients fitness)
Rating: Moderate- difficult
Hike across Table Mountain (cable car tickets not included)
Ascend by cableway and hike to Maclears Beacon, the highest point, with its incredible panoramic views. Admire the unusual landscape and look down on the lower Back Table with its 5 reservoirs stretching all the way to Cape Point.
Duration: 2-3 hours (depending on client’s fitness)

Lions Head (half day)
Tackle this exciting and spectacular route to get panoramic views of the city of Cape Town, the Atlantic seaboard and Table Mountain. Some scrambling along a couple of ladders to be tackled and some exposure to height – worth it all when you reach the summit.

Lower slopes of Table Mountain
Start at Platteklip and continue along the contour path which leads to the corner of mountain with spectacular views of Cape Town and Camps Bay.
