DROUGHT RESISTANT SUSTAINABLE FOOD GARDENS
Drought resistant sustainable food gardens are a unique and effective means of growing food. They are self-contained raised beds with built-in reservoirs that supply water from the bottom up – ensuring minimal maintenance by only requiring watering every 2 to 3 weeks and achieving a massive water saving of up to 70% annually.
Our goal is to build drought-resistant gardens in schools with feeding schemes or community centers for local elderly community. This will make a substantial impact to reduce hunger and improve the diversity of food and nutrition within these beneficiaries. The long term goal is to implement soup kitchens in community centers or utilize the food gardens as fundraisers for the schools.
