How It Works

Time allocation: 1.5 hours

Phase 1: Case File Folder

Teams will be given a case folder at the start of the Game, which has 5 documents inside.

Teams will then split their team, and each pair can work on a document at one time.

Each document has a hidden code or clue to unlock 5 Combination box, as well as I hidden map coordinate which team need to use in Phase 2 of the game.

Newspaper Article:

The Death of the rich Nigerian Uncle Dr Idu Nogud, Teams will receive a News Article with a hidden code (the date on the article and the combination ++-) 15-09-21 (code 691)

The Scam Email.

Teams will receive the scam email addressed from DR Idu Nogud and teams will need to solve the Cryptogram and find the hidden combination into the safe. (Answer code 691)

Police Report:

Teams will receive a police report with the scrambled code and a cypher wheel, solve the code to reveal the combination code the safe. (Answer code 185)

Pigpen Cypher:

Teams will break the code and solve the problem and find the hidden code to unlock the safe. (Answer code 8,5 6,5 4,5)

Financial Report:

Teams will receive Dr Idu Nogud’s Financial Report, and with a crib sheet teams will need to solve the hidden combination to unlock the box. (Answer code 853)

Phase 2: Challenges

Map in the Bottle: Inside will be a Map of Dr Idu Nogud Pass travel plans. The Map in the Bottle. (Code 864) teams will place the coordinates on the map, and connect the dots, and find a number which is code for one of the phase 3 box)

Box Two: Inside will be Tangram Puzzle with a UV Code (Code for one of the final box)

Box Three: Inside will be Jigsaw Puzzle with a code to solve. (Hidden Clue for the cryptex)

Box Four: Inside will be UV Torch. (No Code for the next box)

Box Five: Inside will be Post Card, Lotto Ticket and a Coin. (Code for the final box)

Phase 3: Final Steps

Box One: QR Code Lateral Thinking Random Challenge.

Box Two: Final Journal hidden (Code Trusts)

Box Three: Clue that opens the treasure chest.

Phase 4: Treasure Chest

Solve the Cryptex wheel, (Trusts)

Inside will have the final combination for the treasure chest.

There is only one Cryptex Wheel and it’s a race for the first team to complete the escape boxes and open the treasure chest wins Dr Idu Nogud’s Fortune.

All hints and clues that will assist teams in challenges will result in a timed penalty per clue.

Is there a time limit to escape?
A: Yes, your team has 60 minutes to unlock the fortune. If the time expires, the facilitator will reveal what was left unsolved.
How difficult are the puzzles?
A: The puzzles are designed to challenge teams across a range of problem-solving styles—logic, pattern recognition, decoding, and teamwork. No prior escape room experience is needed.
